You may be looking to add value to the home you're about sell or trying to increase the rent of your investment property

Expert Advice

Before adding or changing anything major in your house, we recommended to have a professional in for their expert advice. This could be one of our LJ Hooker Real Estate agents or even an interior designer. You don’t want to make major changes and it not add any value to the home. Our agents know what the current and future buyers are looking for, so they will have some great tips for you!

Renovating the Kitchen and/or Bathroom

Wet areas are the most expensive rooms to renovate so if this is already done, the potential buyer won't have to worry about updating this for many years to come. If the kitchen is in good shape already you might consider adding new appliances, fresh coat of paint, or adding a new benchtop. If the bathroom is in good shape you might consider adding a new basin and mirror or some fresh paint.

If it's Broke - Fix it

Such as a garage door motor, holes in the fence, loose door handles etc. If the wall paint is looking a bit tired and scuffed, a fresh coat of neutral paint will help freshen up the home.

Add extra storage

Everyone loves storage space so you could install built-in wardrobes in the bedrooms, cupboards in the laundry and hallways … pretty much anywhere you have space.

Create an outdoor space

An outdoor space can act as another 'room' and we have such beautiful weather in Australia so why wouldn’t you want to be outside! Australian’s love to BBQ so if you have an area for this it’s a major advantage. Some people like to garden and other don’t so much, so a self-contained garden could be a tick for both types of buyers.
